Durango has been a Colorado vacations hot spot for scenic beauty since the days of the silver mines, so we’re not surprised to hear guests describe our location as magnificent, breathtaking or spectacular.
Colorado Trails Ranch is just 12 miles northeast of the historic mining town of Durango, Colorado. Our 450 acres of dude ranch property are nestled in a beautiful mountain valley and shares a property line with the two-million acre San Juan National Forest.
The valley the dude ranch sits in has an elevation of 7,500 feet.
From there, the ridges and mountains sweep up to provide a panorama of beautiful, undeveloped country in every direction you look. You will quickly understand after arriving, the reason why all the 'city folks' flocked to this area by train in the late 1800's for the sole purpose of admiring the view. It hasn't changed that much since way back when. There are miles and miles of virgin landscapes just waiting for you to discover just how fabulous the natural world can be.
